SMTDC is a manufacturing Business Incubation Centre established and registered as a legal NPO in 2008. The SMTDC was established as part of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) programme to increase Manufacturing Support Incubation Centre in South Africa particularly targeted towards BBBEE. The Centre has over the years swiftly promoted economic growth and SMME development in the Tshwane Municipality (South Africa), as part of government’s poverty alleviation and economic growth strategies, by employing manufacturing technologies in order to help entrepreneurs create new manufacturing businesses. The SMTDC stands to be an important role player in the creation and dissemination of knowledge and best practices in this regard.
